Taxi, Limo, Rideshare
Licensed Taxi Stands are at each terminal (outside of Baggage Claim zone). In addition, loading zones for Rideshare services (Uber, Lyft or Via) are available in Terminals 2 and 5 and the Kiss-N-Fly zone, located on the northwest corner of the MMF. Access the road from door 6. On the other hand, pre-arranged and on-demand limousine services are available at each terminal. Pick-up is available from the lower level center road lane outside of baggage claim.
Each terminal has its own Taxi Stands area, at the lower level curb front (outside of Baggage Claim). Taxi service is available to Chicago and suburban destinations.
Please make sure to use the designated taxi ranks. For your safety, please do not accept rides from drivers outside the official taxi rank area or on the exit level (second level) of the terminal roads.

All taxis must have a meter that calculates the fare based on time and distance. Rates may be modified depending on traffic conditions. An average fare from O'Hare to downtown Chicago ranges from $30-40. The duration of the trip (off-peak hours) is around 30 to 40 minutes.
If you need a wheelchair accessible vehicle, please call 1-888-928-2227
There is a cheaper option that is the shared ride service, for those who want to share a ride and pay a fixed rate to certain destinations. For this there must be several people available for the trip. Shared ride rates from O'Hare include:
Downtown ($24 per person) - McCormick Place ($24 per person) - Midway International Airport ($37 per person)
Compensated ride-sharing service (such as Uber or Lyft) is available through an app or digital platform to connect passengers with drivers of vehicles for hire.
Pickup zones for Rideshare services are located at:
Terminal 2 - waiting area Upper level between Gate 2A and Gate 2D
BLACK Zone A - North exterior of hall 2A
BLUE Zone B - Exterior Lobby 2A
ORANGE Zone C- Exterior lobby 2B
GREEN Zone D - Exterior lobby 2D
Riders must wait in the specific colored zones until the Rideshare service arrives in the same colored zone before proceeding to the designated pickup location. Between halls 2A and 2D there is a waiting room.
Terminal 5 - waiting area Lower Level Gate 5B. Uber Black
Multimodal Facility: Services at the MMF are conducted from Kiss-N-Fly, located in the northwest corner of the MMF. Access to the road from gate 6.
For more information about the Rideshare program, please visit the City of Chicago website.
Pick up for stretch limos are at the O'Hare Shuttle Bus Center. Stretch limos pick up for Terminals 1 and 2, just after door 4, pick up for Terminal 3, just before door 1 at the Shuttle Bus Center.
Limousines are available for Chicago city and suburban destinations.
Contact the company of your choice near the private transportation counters to make reservations. Or, check out the list of pre-arranged limousine services on the lower level of each terminal.
If you have pre-arranged a pickup with a limousine company, you should call the service only after you have claimed your luggage. They will provide you with a license plate number, a description of the car and/or a gate number where you can meet the driver, the designated areas being the lower level center lane (lane 2). Depending on traffic, it may take between 5 and 20 minutes for the vehicle to reach the designated pick-up location.
In some cases, drivers may coordinate with passengers to meet them once they arrive at the baggage claim area or at other pre-designated pick-up locations within the baggage claim area. In this way, the driver can help with the luggage and take the passenger directly to the vehicle. O'Hare offers designated livery parking directly in front of each of the terminals.
